Ellie’s obsession
Mermaids.
She LOVES mermaids. Every day we go to the pool she pretends to be a mermaid. She crosses her legs at her ankles and splashes around. It’s so cute. She begs for me to pretend to be a mermaid with her.
She tells me everything she knows about mermaids. Like you have to be really nice if you want to be a mermaid because mermaids are good and caring. And mermaids eat “the white stuff inside crabs and shrimps” hehe.
Mermaids love to swim. Mermaids breathe underwater. They live in oceans, they have long tails that help them swim and they don’t wear clothes, only on top. She could write a book!
She says they are very good friends and they NEVER give up their friends, they must be friends for ever.
I don’t know how she found this but there’s a TV show called H20 (which she calls H-twenty hehe) about some mermaids and it’s quickly become her favorite thing. I think that’s where she got the ideas about how mermaids must be good and caring and best friends forever.
When we move she wants a mermaid bedroom.
